Water Restrictions
Dear La Vernia Residents,
In alignment with our partners at the Central Regional Water Authority (CRWA), the City of La Vernia Water Supply is moving to Stage 3 water restrictions. These restrictions are being implemented due to severe drought conditions and the continued decline in aquifer levels. As a result, the City of La Vernia has recently declared a local disaster due to drought. We urge all residents and businesses to comply with these restrictions to help conserve water and ensure its availability for essential needs.
Key Points of Stage 3 Restrictions:
- Watering Frequency: Landscape watering is restricted to once a week on a designated day based on your address.
- Watering Method: Only hand-held hoses are permitted for watering. Drip irrigation systems may be used, but only on the designated watering day.
- Automatic Irrigation Systems: Use of sprinklers and automatic irrigation systems is prohibited during Stage 3 restrictions.
- Car Washing: Washing vehicles is not permitted unless absolutely necessary, and other non-essential outdoor water use is strongly discouraged.
- Pool Filling: Filling or refilling swimming pools is prohibited under Stage 3.
These restrictions are critical as we face dangerously low water levels. Our local aquifer is at a historically low level, and these measures are necessary to help preserve our water supply. We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to ensuring a sustainable water supply for the entire community.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. Please be mindful of your water usage and follow the guidelines to help us navigate this challenging time together.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
