"The La Vernia Municipal Development District has been a great addition to La Vernia for both its community and its entrepreneurs.  Years ago, they assisted The Den by awarding us funds to offset construction costs. But more recently during the recent Covid-19 outbreak, the LVMDD awarded $10,000 grants to local businesses through a Small Business Assistance Program created due to the pandemic.  I am happy to say I was one of the recipients. I allocated these funds to help keep my business going during the Corona Shutdown. I constructed a curb side pick up door that aided customers to be able to practice safe social distancing from the comfort of their car.  Long term, this curb side feature will grow my overall to-go business.  I am proud of my town and its growth. And I am happy to have the LVMDD to be part of my business circle." - "Levi" Harvey McBee

“Third Coast Bank has provided personal and business banking services to La Vernia residents for more than 20 years. In 2014, the bank was rated as one of the healthiest banks by DepositAccounts.com. In 2015 we were awarded a Five Star rating from the independent rating agency Bauer Financial, Inc. If you’ve ever wondered what good banking looks like, you don’t have to look much further than Third Coast. We take pride in the products, services and conveniences we offer our customers. That’s why we like to emphasize that we’re Texans. Well, because people from Texas are proud of their state and their heritage. Pride and Texas go hand in hand—just like Third Coast Bank and you. Our bank is more than just a bank, we’re your friends and neighbors—people you can count on.” – Jeffrey Patteson

“Natural gas has saved me money and allowed me to use extra funds to give more back to my employees and invest in my business. The restaurant recently converted from using propane in its kitchen to natural gas after West Texas Gas and the City of La Vernia inked a deal to bring a natural gas distribution system to La Vernia. Alondra’s serves a variety of affordable Mexican dishes along with other American favorites such as biscuits and gravy and pancakes from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. seven days a week. The best part of our business is pleasing our customers with the food they enjoy the most and seeing them return. We have found La Vernia to be good place to do business because of the small town values and the friendly loyal people.” – Juan Marquez, Owner of Alondra’s Mexican Restaurant

“Aire Plastics Inc. specializes in manufacturing custom plastic items by using injection or blow molders. We produce a wide variety of items including pet supplies, fishing lures, bottles for medical use, even plastic beer pumps. After buying this business, we moved it to La Vernia in 1990. We wanted a small town, no traffic, and a peaceful environment to raise our family. We had relatives here, and knew the schools were excellent in this community. The population of La Vernia is a little over 1200, but it boasts a class 3A high school. Aire Plastics Inc. sells nationwide and to Canada, and our products reach Mexico and Puerto Rico through distributors. When we started in La Vernia, San Antonio trucking services did not reach La Vernia; now all the lines go through here. Our company motto is “We are your partner in manufacturing.” – Terry and Judy Post, Owners of Aire Plastics, Inc.

“David L. Fleitas, D.D.S., established Pediatric Dental Specialists of Wilson County in October of 1997. Our success and growth as an organization derives from a variety of community attributes. It was apparent fifteen years ago, as it does today, that La Vernia is a family focused community. This was the key ingredient in selecting our location. First, an analysis of La Vernia’s demographics revealed a school district with a strong academic reputation. Second, the affordability of outstanding quality homes built by a wide selection of exceptional home builders. When one looks at the number of custom home subdivisions which have developed with an 8 mile radius of my practice, the growth has been nothing short of spectacular. The value that is afforded a middle class family with close proximity and easy access to San Antonio is incomparable. The goal of our practice is to provide the highest standards of care and professionalism to our patients. This has been accomplished by my dedicated team of employees. They all reside in La Vernia and two of my employees have been employed for 10 years. There is no shortage of outstanding talent in this community for any business to be successful. The City of La Vernia has shown it commitment to economic and business growth by establishing the La Vernia Municipal Development District. This organization is the focal point to assist in new business formation and to facilitate existing business growth. This is a team of highly professional and competent individuals and together with the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce will create an environment where any business can be successful.” – Dr. David Fleitas
